As many of you know we have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Peta's 2nd Organic Babe…Peta & Anthony welcomed Poppy Jean at 8.25pm on Monday the 8th March, weighing 3.71kg, 51cm long, she is beautiful. What a clever girl arriving on the eve of Gabe’s News day. Gabe is loving big school….

EASTER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER…
….and we have decided due to a number of factors including the disruption with transport due to Good Friday and Easter Monday that we will not offer deliveries the week following the long weekend. So no deliveries week of the 7th April….all will be back to normal for deliveries 12th – 15th April. You may like to order a little extra deliveries 29th – 1st April to get you through the break.

SHORTAGE ON COW’S MILK IS ALMOST OVER – HANG IN THERE
Sorry about the shortage on Milk…Cow’s are calving and BD Milk will be short for another week…we will have some supply and so will leave it on the list….but if not available we will substitute with Norco Milk. Lettuce know if you do not want us to substitute the milk for you…

Customers who are wanting to secure their supply of Jersey Milk need to place their order before 2pm each Friday as that is when we need to order the Milk with our supplier. If this is not possible you could set up an order that we take into account when placing our order to ensure supply. Friday 2pm is also the deadline for customers who receive an order delivery Thursday.
PLEASE RETURN OUR BOXES
We are picking up fewer and fewer boxes and are unable to get many recycled boxes. We are extremely reluctant to buy new boxes as this adds to yet another environmental problem. If we are not picking up your boxes please lettuce know. In our vans we should basically be replacing the box we are delivering with your returning empty. Thank you in advance.

You may or may not be aware that we initially only sold Fruit & Veg at Lettuce Deliver – the other 2000 grocery items that we now offer are items you have asked us to stock. Just send us an email or give us a call with the product/s you would like us to carry and we will do our best to source for you ! For those of you who have requested products be sure to check out the New Product Category each week, we receive a huge number of requests for products and slowly work our way through your emails….
FOOD MILES, LOCALLY GROWN FOOD & CARBON EMISSIONS…
…..is a hot topic of which we have very mixed emotions. Obviously with the evidence at hand on climate change we should all be doing the utmost to make a difference if only in the smallest ways…..but, for NSWalers, we are not in a lucky position. Some of Australia’s best growing regions for veges in particular is VIC & QLD, for Apples SA and TASSIE, for bananas & Strawberries North QLD, for citrus QLD & SA. Yes, some of these items are grown in NSW. Our lettuces, soft greens, cabbages, broccoli & stonefruit in summer, avocadoes most of the year come from NSW….But, which gives off more carbon emissions, a small vehicle driven from Colo River carrying one pallet of oranges or a large vehicle driven from QLD carrying 30 - 50 pallets of bananas ?? I don’t know the definitive answer, but I do know that we have and always will support Australian Farmers supplying quality produce. For fruit & veg coming interstate we are only talking hours of travel not days. One thing is certain, we are definitely all making an impact to the environment by supporting sustainable agriculture.
In regards to food miles and the push to support local organic farmers markets – don’t be fooled….the outlets selling a full range of fruit & veg are bought through Wholesalers, not grown on the one farm.

Our website is updated with the current availability by 9am each Thursday morning. You are able to save your order, pull up your favourite order, organise a default order that you can change by accessing your favourite order, make changes to the items in the seasonal boxes, etc…
If you Register as a New Customer but are an existing customer of Lettuce we can not save the Favourite Order you may or may not have attached to the new account you create. If you do not know your Customer number for Log In/Sign In purposes please call or email or office and we will be only too happy to provide you any details you may require.
CUT OFF FOR DELIVERIES MONDAY – WEDNESDAY IS 4PM FRIDAY & CUT OFF FOR DELIVERIES THURSDAY IS 8AM MONDAY
Please note our closing times for placing orders…..4pm Friday for deliveries Monday – Wednesday and 8am Monday for deliveries on Thursday…..for those customers who find it hard to order within the given time frame please set up an ‘if no contact’ order…which can be a basic list of the goodies you simply can not be without each week, that we will process for you if we have not received an order from you by the cut off time…
We do appreciate that from time to time unforseen obstacles may effect your ability to have your order in on time and for those rare occasions we do not mind replacing orders, calling Farmers back, etc….but for regular late orderers please do not be offended when I email you back, saying that you have missed the order cut off…..Thank you for your understanding.
