  • Graeme has confirmed today that we will have his amazing Royal Gala Apples in our warehouse on Monday the 4th of March. Yeehah. Until we have Forest Orchard apples back on the list, we have good fruit available from McMahon & Edwards - Fuji, Gala & Granny Smith.
  • Blueberries coming from Sky Blue in Tassie were a stand out this week - Big, plump and super sweet. As good as Blueberries get! Sky Blue's season will continue for approx 4 - 5 weeks.
  • Valencia Oranges are now approaching end of the season...fruit is starting to feel a little soft, but flavour is still fantastic. Remember to refrigerate at your end.
  • Strawberries from Victoria have had a good flavour...but as many of you already know are not lasting long at all. Make a 'use first item' each week for the time being.
  • Honeydew melon on Grower Special this week - only $3.00 per kilo. Melons are big - approx 3-4kg each. Flavour was fantastic this week. Dragonfruit - $17.00 per kilo & Small Pineapples - $6.50 each also still on grower special.
  • Grapes have been amazing! Order with confidence! Keep in mind that there may be a few bad grapes amongst your bunch (that goes for all varieties) just happens especially on bunches that are tightly formed like Crimson. Autumn Royal Grapes available this week from 'Don't Mess with Mother Nature'. Being a hybrid variety they apparently have seeds - although we have not seen one in quite a few seasons....They are essentially a black grape with quite a thick skin and are on the larger side. We love them because they are so crunchy.
  • Figs deserve a special mention - fruit from Green Gables as well as Pennyfields has been outstanding! So, so good.
  • A quick note about the Second Quality Stonefruit - from one week to another we have no idea how many will be, please make a note with your order if you would like us to replace your order of Seconds with First quality fruit should the Seconds not be available. As many veterans of Lettuce know we generally supply our stonefruit on the firm side....we do this so they get to you in one piece as well as allowing you to decide when they ripen. For those of you who like to eat your stonefruit hard refrigerate on arrival....they will eventually become soft...but not quickly. For those who like a dripping peach, simply leave at room temperature.
  • I'm sure you will all agree, our produce special - Corn has been fantastic. Remember, Corn should be an 'eat first' item as they are sweetest when they are first picked. For any extended delay in eating it is best to cut off the kernels and freeze for later use. Corn is also very susceptible to Ear Worm - conventionally, crops are heavily sprayed to get rid of this little critter and even then, many cobs have their tip cut off due to damage. We find with our organic corn, that more often than not there is a worm or evidence of it being present at some stage on most cobs. Don't let it's remains turn you off, simply cut the tip off ! $1.00 each this week.
  • Early Asparagus available this week from Maurice Caffra.
  • Spaghetti Squash also back on the list from Glenrose.
  • Cauliflower is still in short supply...sorry everyone, no price relief in sight, also please keep in mind Summer Cauliflower are always a little rough around the edges, an off white to yellowy colour, a little rubbery and generally not as densely developed as the Winter Cauli's we love, this loose formation coupled with extreme temps can result in there being random problems with grubs etc....the good news is they have a good flavour if you can get past the uninviting appearance.
  • Celery quality is a little ho-hum. Know what to expect everyone, certainly not the prettiest Celery we have seen...but Celery none-the-less. As with each year the Celery from SA often has the centre cut out of the bunch - this happens on farm.
  • Baby Spinach PP, Peas - both Sugar Snap and Snow, Leeks, Beans (although price climbing), Broccoli, Carrots (finally coming back in price), Kumera, Cherry Tomatoes - Mini Roma from Macheda in particular, Red Capsicum (still on grower special), Cucumber - all varieties, Jap Pumpkin, Basil, Zucchini & Shallots were great this week. .
  • As with most February's....we are experiencing some fairly extreme weather conditions - hot and wet being one of the worst for Growers around the country. Of course these conditions can always present random problems across a whole range of produce...Please keep in mind that we guarantee the quality of all of the produce we supply you. We would hate to think that anything we have supplied you has ended up straight in the compost...but we are dealing in fresh fruit and veg and these things can happen...thankfully not often !
  • Did you know we have Recipe Packages, also simply known as Meal Inspiration for those of us preparing dinner for the fam each evening...Head to our Meal Inspiration Page to find this week's selection of Recipe inspirations. We know you all have things in your pantry like Olive Oil so with our packages you can simply add the package to your cart and then delete any goodies you don't require. So simple !
  • Please return our boxes, icepacks and plastic boxes containing soft fruits and veges! These can be used over and over again if treated with care. We also welcome the return of all other packaging material that may find it's way into your order, egg cartons, bubble wrap, lettuce and spinach boxes, etc. I know many are sceptical about the recycling of goods through local councils....but please be assured we deliver all of the packaging material we use (when the end of their life is upon us) into Sydney Markets where recycling is a big business.....Please leave all these goodies in your returning boxes out for our drivers to collect on your next delivery.

We have updated our website with the most up to date and accurate information available to us at this time, but due to many factors including that most of the produce is yet to be picked there is of course some uncertainty with our expected supply. The good news is that we have quite a few supply options available to us and so we may list a Grower on our site that does not end up supplying us goodies this week. Rest assured we only deal in Certified Organic, Australian Grown Fruit and Veges - so any replacements we may supply to you from other Aussie Growers will also be grown in line with the National Organic Standard. You don't have to take our word for it... Lettuce Deliver is also a Certified Organic Retailer (NASAA Retailer R9291) which means that we have to be able to prove any claims we make about a products organic status at a moment's notice : )

The time has come for us to remove the seasonal $35.00 mixed box from our offerings, as well as increase our fruit box to $50.00 and our vege box to $70.00...this will come into effect in January 2019. Our $44.00 juicing box will also increase to $55.00.

We have come a long way since 1999 when we offered only certified organic fruit & veges and Greenwood juices for home delivery from our small shop in Tamarama..... today we have a warehouse packed to the brim with thousands of delicious, must have items to fill your pantry, fridge and freezer.

MILK many cases the Milk we offer you needs to be pre-ordered at our end a week in advance. Most of the time our guess- timates are spot on...but we have been caught out on the odd occasion. We do have a number of Dairy options available to us and so if we run short  on some varieties, we may look to others to fill the gap. If you would like us to supply ONLY the milk you have ordered or nothing at all, please make a note with your order.

As you know, we charge your credit card for your delivery total on the day of or day after your delivery. Please ensure that we have your up to date credit card details and that there are sufficient funds available on the day of your delivery for us to process your payment.
