This ensures the milk is of the highest quality and taste. All of Barambah's yoghurts have five live cultures added, which are acidophilus, bifidus, casei, thermophilus and bulgaricus. There are no gelatines, no artificial colouring, no preservatives or artificial flavours added.

We wish you and your family a very happy, healthy, safe and of course ‘Organic Christmas and New Year’. Thank you for your support this year and we look forward to bringing you Certified Organic, Aussie Grown Goodness again in 2019.

Thank you also to everyone who has sent us Christmas notes, cards and goodies.

This week will be our final delivery this year. Our next contact will be on Wednesday the 2nd of January 2019….preparing for our first deliveries of the New Year 7th - 10th of January. On this week we will start all ‘Standing Orders’ as well as all ‘If No Contact Orders’….if this doesn’t work at your end please lettuce know when to re-start your deliveries. Please ensure you have sufficient funds available for us to be paid the day of your delivery.
For customers ordering up this week…be sure to get some Peak Fresh Bags to keep your fresh produce in good condition longer !

  • ...Last deliveries for the year are this week 17th - 20th December. As with each Christmas/New Year we will be taking a short break to rest and spend time with our loved ones (this is still including our dog Nikita, who many of you remember from when we had shopping in our warehouse - she has just turned 17!!)....First deliveries of 2018 will be made week starting Monday the 7th of January. For everyone who has pre-ordered Christmas Meats over the last month - we will be adding these to your orders this week.
  • Please return our boxes, icepacks and plastic boxes containing soft fruits and veges! These can be used over and over again if treated with care. We also welcome the return of all other packaging material that may find it's way into your order, egg cartons, bubble wrap, lettuce, strawberry and cherry tomato punnets aswell as spinach boxes, etc. I know many are sceptical about the recycling of goods through local councils....but please be assured we deliver all of the packaging material we use (when the end of their life is upon us) into Sydney Markets where recycling is a big business.....Please leave all these goodies in your returning boxes out for our drivers to collect on your next delivery. If our drivers are not picking up your boxes please lettuce know.
  • The Summer Fruits we have on offer are outstanding! ...Stand outs this week - White Peaches, Apricots (although ripening at lightning speed), Yellow Nectarines, Mangoes (Trays of 14 our produce special - running again this week), Cherries (Bing available this week - BIG meaty & full of flavour), Figs & Dragonfruit. Keep in mind that the first varieties of Peaches and Nectarines often present open seeds... Not really a problem but certainly a shock if you are not expecting it. As with each Stonefruit season our preference is for fruit on the firmer side...to ripen, leave in a warm location of the kitchen and the fruit will soften within a few days. To keep the fruit firm for longer, simply store in the fridge....White Nectarines back on the list from McMahon.
  • ...back to the Mangoes....Treat yourself everyone - you will not be disappointed. As with most seasons, some of the fruit is developing 'black spot' around the cylix (spot they were attached to the tree) as they ripen....These spots are generally only skin deep and are a result of a set of weather conditions at the time the fruit is in flower...in saying that - we see them most seasons....
  • A quick note about the Second Quality Peaches, Nectarines and Mangoes. From one week to another we have no idea how many will be available.....so, please make a note with your order if you would like us to replace your order of Seconds with First quality fruit should the Seconds not be available.
  • Remember to store your end of season Apples, Pears and Grapefruit in the fridge. Pick in the Apples is definitely the small Gala coming from Tassie - they still have good flavour and texture. New Apple season will start January/February 2019. Sorry about the tease on Ruby Grapefruit this week, quality fell well below the standard you have come to expect from us.
  • Put Flat Parsley back on the menu. Rachel is picking from a new patch this week, although bunches are shorter, leaves are clean and quality fantastic. Grower special this week - $2.60 per bunch.
  • It's that time of the year again when QLD potatoes want to grow again because of the warmer weather...hence under the right conditions you may begin to see a potato developing a sprout. Simply flick them off. If you have the room store your spuds in your fridge to stop the sprout from developing.
  • Generally speaking the vegies we have on offer have been fantastic. Cauli's (small in particular) from Fred Rowdowsky, Carrots (now also coming from Fred), Cucumber - both English  & Lebanese, Basil (now coming locally from Charlie), Red Capsicum, Cherry Tomatoes (Grape in particular), Snowpeas, Sugar Snap Peas, Bunched Beetroot, Dutch Carrots, Bok Choy (on grower special this week), Italian Garlic, Silverbeet, Onions - all varieties, Jap Pumpkin, Tomatoes - all varieties, Shallots, Zucchini and Rocket PP were stand outs. Mini Cos & Minuette back on the list from Joe this week.
  • Seasonal boxes... The time has come for us to remove the seasonal $35.00 mixed box from our offerings, as well as increase our fruit box to $50.00 and our vege box to $70.00...this will come into effect in January 2019. Our $44.00 juicing box will also increase to $55.00. We have come a long way since 1999 (yep, we will have been supplying many of you for 20 years next year) when we offered only certified organic fruit & veges and Greenwood juices for home delivery from our small shop in Tamarama..... today we have a warehouse packed to the brim with thousands of delicious, must have items to fill your pantry, fridge and freezer.
  • Glenrose Eggs on Grower Special this week. These amazing pastured eggs come from Eden & Jason Bruessow in Findon Creek, via Kyogle in NSW. The hens free range unrestricted on the farm which has been  biodynamic since 1984. The hens have constant access to certified organic grain and lush pasture. Eden's lucky 2000 Hens free range over 8 hectares.

  • Did you know we have Recipe Packages, also simply known as Meal Inspiration for those of us preparing dinner for the fam each evening...Head to our Meal Inspiration Page to find this week's selection of Recipe inspirations. We know you all have things in your pantry like Olive Oil so with our packages you can simply add the package to your cart and then delete any goodies you don't require. So simple !
  • Please return our boxes, icepacks and plastic boxes containing soft fruits and veges! These can be used over and over again if treated with care. We also welcome the return of all other packaging material that may find it's way into your order, egg cartons, bubble wrap, lettuce and spinach boxes, etc.

We have updated our website with the most up to date and accurate information available to us at this time, but due to many factors including that most of the produce is yet to be picked there is of course some uncertainty with our expected supply. The good news is that we have quite a few supply options available to us and so we may list a Grower on our site that does not end up supplying us goodies this week. Rest assured we only deal in Certified Organic, Australian Grown Fruit and Veges - so any replacements we may supply to you from other Aussie Growers will also be grown in line with the National Organic Standard. You don't have to take our word for it... Lettuce Deliver is also a Certified Organic Retailer (NASAA Retailer R9291) which means that we have to be able to prove any claims we make about a products organic status at a moment's notice : )

SEASONAL BOX CHANGE FROM JANUARY 2019

The time has come for us to remove the seasonal $35.00 mixed box from our offerings, as well as increase our fruit box to $50.00 and our vege box to $70.00...this will come into effect in January 2019. Our $44.00 juicing box will also increase to $55.00.

We have come a long way since 1999 when we offered only certified organic fruit & veges and Greenwood juices for home delivery from our small shop in Tamarama..... today we have a warehouse packed to the brim with thousands of delicious, must have items to fill your pantry, fridge and freezer.

CLEOPATRA'S BATH WASH & BODY BUTTER

As many of you already know, we were fined by the NSW Food Authority in October this year for selling Cleopatra's Bath Wash in August 2018. A NSW Food Authority representative came onto our premises, confiscated some Cleopatra Products, had them tested and provided us with an analysis and a letter that said we were in breach of the Food Act 2003 and clause 68A Food Regulation 2015.

We had also been warned in December 2015 by the NSW Food Authority for selling Cleopatra Products - but on further questioning were told we had not broken any laws.

In August this year, we were advised that a new regulation had come into effect which required our supplier to hold a license with the NSW Food Authority for distribution of this product. At the time we were made aware of the new regulation our Solicitor became involved as we were again threatened with a potential fine..... We enquired as to how we obtained the 'new license' as we could buy from Trevor Mahaffey directly....we are still waiting for clarification on this issue from the NSW Food Authority (it seems this license is unattainable).

Following our enquiries we have been fined for $1320.00

Our offence being:

Sold and supplied a raw milk product described as "Cleopatra's Bath Wash" that was not treated, packaged or labelled in a manner to deter human consumption.

I will remind everyone how we sell this product on our website - in a Category on it's own called:

RAW Bath Wash (cosmetic skin treatment only)

with the following description:

Cleopatra's – Bath Wash (cosmetic skin treatment only)
Ingredients: Organic Jersey Bath Wash
For cosmetic skin treatment only. Not suitable for Human Consumption. This bath wash comes from Trevor Mahaffey in Goomboorian who supplies us with his magnificent Certified Organic QLD Beans part of each year. It arrives to us each Monday with a 10 day expiry

We have appealed this fine with Revenue's NSW, and that appeal has been rejected on the basis that we do not treat (ie. put an additive in the product) to deter human consumption. Our only avenue now is to ask that the breach is brought before a judge. This could be a lengthy and costly process that we simply cannot risk in terms of cost. As many of you know, our focus has always been the supply of brilliant, Aussie grown, Certified Organic Fruit & Veges and so I remind myself of this fact as we decide to remove the Cleo products from our site and move forward.

MILK

...in many cases the Milk we offer you needs to be pre-ordered at our end a week in advance. Most of the time our guess- timates are spot on...but we have been caught out on the odd occasion. We do have a number of Dairy options available to us and so if we run short  on some varieties, we may look to others to fill the gap. If you would like us to supply ONLY the milk you have ordered or nothing at all, please make a note with your order.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS

As you know, we charge your credit card for your delivery total on the day of or day after your delivery. Please ensure that we have your up to date credit card details and that there are sufficient funds available on the day of your delivery for us to process your payment.
