  • So here we are again.....updating our site while we are still packing and invoicing orders for this week...And of course now asking you to order again, even though many of you are still awaiting this week's delivery !!! : ) The good news is, that like most Winters the produce has been superb so order with confidence. Cauliflower, Broccoli, Leeks, Beans, Dutch Carrots and Zucchini all stand outs in the veg this week.
  • ...Strawberries from Pim a clear stand out in the fruit if you are looking for a treat. Flavour has been amazing!
  • Apples - also fantastic. Unfortunately we have now exhausted our stocks of Forest Orchard Fuji's...but have fruit available to us from Mock Red Hill....which many of you have received this week - which are also delicious. Gala from Forest are now on the incy wincy side : ) perfect for lunch boxes. Pink Lady and Golden on the other hand are a little larger than we would usually choose. As with each season as we get to this time of the apple season the Granny Smith become a little slippery. The apple itself is so clever that it is secreting a protective layer to prolong it's life. We often get asked about whether or not Organic Apples are waxed when Grannies work their magic. Rest assured waxing of Apples is not allowed under the National Standard for Organic Production...also a quick note that the Golden Delicious are now what we consider 'soft' - certainly not for those who only like a crunchy apple.
  • ...thinking about size is bringing Limes and Kumera to mind...both are much larger than usual. Sorry everyone, we do take into consideration your requests on size....but if we only have large goodies arrive....then large it is. As many of you know we do not sell from stock we have in our coolrooms....but rather talk to our growers and suppliers about the stock that is yet to be picked and we can at times be surprised when we roll back the curtains of the truck...this is the same for our second quality offerings....they are all picked, packed and delivered at the same time as the first quality goodies. Moving 'last weeks' stock is never an issue for us....our seconds are exactly that...seconds due to shape and size - not due to old age.
  • Hass Avocado price is finally coming down... as has the Navel Orange price. Fat Goose now supplying all our fruit and our preferred size - smallish.
  • Daisy Mandarins hitting the list this week from Brander. These mandi's are sweet and juicy similar to a Honey Mercott.
  • Lemons, Paw Paw & Papaya (still on grower special), Imperial Mandarins, Cavendish Bananas, Kiwifruit & Pineapples (still on grower special) have been great this week. Blood Oranges now available.
  • Charlie's locally grown Kale now only $3.00 per bunch. Put Kale Chips on the menu this week.
  • QLD Celery tastes amazing! Celery sticks with hummus anyone ? Bunches are on the smaller/young side but are worth the effort reviving. Simply re-cut the stem and submerge the bunch in water. The transformation will be nothing less than miraculous! As you all know Celery Sticks always require CPR at your end : )
  • A quick note about Purple or Red Kumera...When they arrive to us they look as though they have taken a month to get here and generally will mould on any cut surface within a day or two...We know that many of you know exactly what you are going to get...but for any one new to the Red Sweet Potato - know what to expect.
  • Biodynamic Cabbages from Mount Whitestone have been delicious. Try making your own Coleslaw - so easy....
  • The end of the Onion and Garlic season is upon us, this can result in the veg beginning to want to grow again under the right conditions. Store in a well ventilated, cool area of the kitchen. If your onions or garlic do start to sprout, they are still fine to eat. You can remove the sprout if you prefer, otherwise simply cut up, sprout and all ! New season will start again in September. Russian Garlic is now starting to arrive in segments, not bulbs and the Italian Garlic (most bulbs) are showing some sign of sprouting, with cloves also now breaking apart when touched. Know what to expect.
  • Tomato availability has improved with a flush coming from QLD. Take advantage everyone...the fruit is delicious and on grower special this week.
  • Due to the cooler weather we are experiencing an egg and milk shortage. We will have enough of both in total numbers to supply all orders...but we may sub to a brand you have not ordered. If you are wanting the brand of eggs or milk you have ordered or nothing at all please advise.
  • Did you know we have Recipe Packages, also simply known as Meal Inspiration for those of us preparing dinner for the fam each evening...Head to our Meal Inspiration Page to find this week's selection of Recipe inspirations. We know you all have things in your pantry like Olive Oil so with our packages you can simply add the package to your cart and then delete any goodies you don't require. So simple !
  • Please return our boxes, icepacks and plastic boxes containing soft fruits and veges! These can be used over and over again if treated with care. We also welcome the return of all other packaging material that may find it's way into your order, egg cartons, bubble wrap, lettuce and spinach boxes, etc. I know many are sceptical about the recycling of goods through local councils....but please be assured we deliver all of the packaging material we use (when the end of their life is upon us) into Sydney Markets where recycling is a big business.....Please leave all these goodies in your returning boxes out for our drivers to collect on your next delivery.

We have updated our website with the most up to date and accurate information available to us at this time, but due to many factors including that most of the produce is yet to be picked there is of course some uncertainty with our expected supply. The good news is that we have quite a few supply options available to us and so we may list a Grower on our site that does not end up supplying us goodies this week. Rest assured we only deal in Certified Organic, Australian Grown Fruit and Veges - so any replacements we may supply to you from other Aussie Growers will also be grown in line with the National Organic Standard. You don't have to take our word for it... Lettuce Deliver is also a Certified Organic Retailer (NASAA Retailer R9291) which means that we have to be able to prove any claims we make about a products organic status at a moment's notice : )

MILK many cases the Milk we offer you needs to be pre-ordered at our end a week in advance. Most of the time our guess- timates are spot on...but we have been caught out on the odd occasion. We do have a number of Dairy options available to us and so if we run short  on some varieties, we may look to others to fill the gap. If you would like us to supply ONLY the milk you have ordered or nothing at all, please make a note with your order.

As you know, we charge your credit card for your delivery total on the day of or day after your delivery. Please ensure that we have your up to date credit card details and that there are sufficient funds available on the day of your delivery for us to process your payment.
