  • Keep in mind that all Winter fruit - Apples, Navel Oranges, Mandarins, Kiwifruit, Lemons & Pears (now a little wrinkly) are all at the end of their season and are best stored in the fridge. If you only like eating your fruit at room temperature, can I suggest storing your fruit in the fridge and then each morning placing the fruit that will be eaten that day into the fruit bowl.
  • It's hard to believe...but the end of Forest Orchard Apple season is upon us. Stocks of Golden Dels have now also been completely exhausted. We are of course replacing Graeme's Apples as they run out with fruit from other Farms - Edwards, Mock Red Hill, Esperence Bay and McMahon just to name a few....but....keep in mind that all of the mentioned Growers have apples that have been off the trees for some time please remember to store in the fridge from here on in.
  • Aussie Kiwifruit are just about done for the will notice they are ripening at lightning speed.
  • Hass Avocadoes, Tangellos, Daisy Mandarins, Lemonade Fruit, Rhubarb, Cavendish Bananas, Grapefruit - both Red and Yellow, Passionfruit (although a little wrinkly) and Navel Oranges have been delicious.
  • Sorry about the lack of Corn this week. Sadly the cobs that arrived fell well below the standard you have come to expect from us - back to cobs from Pinnacle this week. Order with confidence. QLD Corn does often arrive looking a little grey and dry...but don't let this put you off - the Kernels are sweet and juicy.
  • ....You may want to double wash your lettuce this week - with the amazing winds we have been experiencing there is no doubt that the headed lettuce will be a little dirtier than usual. If you don't have time to double wash...head straight to a Salad Mix from Pim - quality has been outstanding!
  • Add a little Turmeric to your life this week. This root veg (or should I say spice) is a powerhouse we should all be consuming on a regular basis. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant. Not sure what to do with it - keep it simple - grate into a salad or throw into a smoothie. Alternatively you could roast with other veges or blend up with your favourite soup. Check the net - so many options.
  • Baby Spinach is still arriving with quite a lot of Winter grass - sorry everyone, this really can't be helped. Know what to expect.
  • Some of our Celery is a little floppy! This is because some of the bunches are young and not completely filled out. You will be amazed at the transformation by loving your bunch for a few minutes. Simply recut the bottom of the stem and submerge in water for a few minutes. Know what to expect.
  • Charlie's Green Curly Kale is in good supply and our produce special this week - only $2.90 per bunch. Try making Kale Chips this week - Simply - cut your Kale into pieces, place on a baking tray with olive oil and a little herb salt...then bake until crunchy. Great afternoon snack!
  • Fennel from Charlie has also been superb. Don't let the long fronds scare you away. These can be used in a salad or as garnish or you can simply cut these off and compost as the real hero is the crunchy bulb which is delicious in salads and slaws (make sure you slice it very thin). The bulb can also be braised or grilled until tender. Try a simple Fennel Salad. Charlie's locally grown Bok Choy have also been great.
  • Garlic is at the end of the season and may now arrive in segments with a little discoloration, some are even 'coming to life' with a green shoot now evident. New season Italian Garlic will start at the end of September.
  • Roma Tomatoes, Spaghetti Squash, Cabbage, Bok Choy, Broccolini, Brussels Sprouts  although most are requiring stripping back due to black spot on the outer leaves), Silverbeet, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Pumpkin - both Jap and Butternut, Red Capsicum, Zucchini, Mushrooms, Sugar Snap Peas, Cucumber, Leeks, Onions - both Gold and Spanish and Peitite Cherry Tomatoes were fantastic this week.
  • Special on Glenrose Eggs again this week - only $13.30 per dozen this week. Best before 10.09.19 Eden has 'the best' eggs. If they are usually not on your list, give them a try this week.
  • Feedback please: Thank you for your feedback on Pork. Certified Organic Cuts available again week starting the 2nd September.
  • We have a box of Winter Edition Living Now magazines in our warehouse (due to advertising). They usually retail for $8.80. We are basically giving them away for $1.10 each. You can find the mag in the Book section this week.
  • We have had a number of requests to allow New Products to remain in the New Products category for longer than 1 from now on we will leave the new products in this section for 4 weeks... Please do scroll down as the listing is alphabetical and so it may not be obvious at first glance that there are new items further down the page.
  • Due to the cooler weather we are experiencing an egg and milk shortage. We will have enough of both in total numbers to supply all orders...but we may sub to a brand you have not ordered. If you are wanting the brand of eggs or milk you have ordered or nothing at all please advise.
  • Did you know we have Recipe Packages, also simply known as Meal Inspiration for those of us preparing dinner for the fam each evening...Head to our Meal Inspiration Page to find this week's selection of Recipe inspirations. We know you all have things in your pantry like Olive Oil so with our packages you can simply add the package to your cart and then delete any goodies you don't require. So simple !
  • Please return our boxes, icepacks and plastic boxes containing soft fruits and veges! These can be used over and over again if treated with care. We also welcome the return of all other packaging material that may find it's way into your order, egg cartons, bubble wrap, lettuce and spinach boxes, etc. I know many are sceptical about the recycling of goods through local councils....but please be assured we deliver all of the packaging material we use (when the end of their life is upon us) into Sydney Markets where recycling is a big business.....Please leave all these goodies in your returning boxes out for our drivers to collect on your next delivery.

We have updated our website with the most up to date and accurate information available to us at this time, but due to many factors including that most of the produce is yet to be picked there is of course some uncertainty with our expected supply. The good news is that we have quite a few supply options available to us and so we may list a Grower on our site that does not end up supplying us goodies this week. Rest assured we only deal in Certified Organic, Australian Grown Fruit and Veges - so any replacements we may supply to you from other Aussie Growers will also be grown in line with the National Organic Standard. You don't have to take our word for it... Lettuce Deliver is also a Certified Organic Retailer (NASAA Retailer R9291) which means that we have to be able to prove any claims we make about a products organic status at a moment's notice : )

Thank you all so much for support regarding our listing on NSW Food Authorities site for being in breach of a food act. If you have been blissfully oblivious to the drama, you can come up to speed here... or just sail on by and come on in to order our Aussie grown, All Certified Organic Fruit & Veges : )

MILK many cases the Milk we offer you needs to be pre-ordered at our end a week in advance. Most of the time our guess- timates are spot on...but we have been caught out on the odd occasion. We do have a number of Dairy options available to us and so if we run short  on some varieties, we may look to others to fill the gap. If you would like us to supply ONLY the milk you have ordered or nothing at all, please make a note with your order.

As you know, we charge your credit card for your delivery total on the day of or day after your delivery. Please ensure that we have your up to date credit card details and that there are sufficient funds available on the day of your delivery for us to process your payment.
