Our Fresh Produce Report

This report was updated on Wednesday 1st April for deliveries 6th - 9th April 2020

Due to the high volume of orders we are receiving on our website we can only guarantee deliveries to customers who have ordered with us in the last 3 months. If you are new or a returning customer of Lettuce Deliver please be aware that we may not be able to provide our service to you at this time. If you choose to proceed to place an order we will notify you on Sunday the 5th of April if we are unable to deliver to you week starting 6th April. Sorry for any inconvenience.

So....business as usual continues at Lettuce Deliver in a very very unusual way!

Due to the overwhelming number of you concerned about how you will stock your fridges Easter week we have decided that we WILL NOT CLOSE week starting Easter Monday this year. Obviously all deliveries will be made one day later week starting Monday the 13th due to the public holiday. We do feel as though we are sprinting a marathon...so perhaps when all of this is behind us we will take a week off  : )  Order cut off Easter week will still be 6am Sat for priority supply and 8am Sunday will see our website close for deliveries between Tuesday the 14th and Friday the 17th.

Please do not ask our drivers to bring your order into your homes....our drivers have been instructed to deliver to front doors or foyers only.....and please don't assure our driver that you are not sick so they should take your empty boxes back....there is no grey area here - we cannot take back any boxes or packaging material at this time. If you have room to store for us that would be fantastic (we will be able to pick up eventually) - but if not, we understand that you may have to recycle at your end.

As expected, there have been some shortages....but generally speaking we are placed better than most in the market as we have long standing, healthy relationships with our Suppliers and Growers that extend over 21 years....many of you have had our family delivering to yours for just as long and so I want to assure all of our customers that we will do everything we can to continue delivering to you....we understand that many of you need our service more than ever  at this time.

Our delivery of Wool Cool boxes has been delayed until next week (Wool Cool are also under extreme pressure at this time to supply their product around the country). Trial now expected week starting Monday the 13th April.

We are all still well! None of our family and staff have come into direct contact with any person carrying the virus and we are following strict procedures at our end to ensure the continued safety of your family, our family and our staff. Our warehouse is not open to the public at all and Couriers delivering stock to us are no longer able to come inside our warehouse. Our staff are temperature checked on arrival each day to limit the chance that our team are exposed to the virus and we are following all of the recommendations from our Government and the World Health Organisation to limit potential exposure.

We are doing our best to fill your orders for groceries....but there have been challenges as you can imagine....orders are taking longer to arrive from our suppliers due to increased demand, some stock is arriving battered as delivery vehicles are under pressure to fit more in (so please excuse a semi squashed corner on a box of cereal) and some lines are a little short. We will continue to make sensible substitutions at our end. Unlike other weeks when you may slip down to your local shop for an item we could not supply, I understand that this may not be possible - and if were you I would want a substitute - so in keeping with treating orders as we would want ours treated - If we have a similar item to replace an oos item with we will do so - unless of course you advise otherwise. If you only want what has been ordered or nothing - please add NO SUBSTITION on your order (in delivery options/Instructions) category.

We will keep an eye on supply and will cut back multi orders on packaged items if we feel necessary so that we can supply all. Any packaged items purchased from our site cannot be returned for a refund in the future. Limit on toilet paper is 2 packets per customer (who would have thought that people would find us to simply order 10 packets of toilet paper). Max 2 packets, possibly one depending on stock levels - so please don't make more work for us by ordering more than 2. We are happy to help out with this one as we do have supply - but we don't want to fill our vans with toilet paper deliveries! Our focus has always been Certified Organic, All Australian grown Fruit & Vegetables and still remains our number 1 focus.

Our new order cut off times are - 6am Saturday for priority supply (Deliveries Mon - Thursday) We will stop taking orders at 8am Sunday for the coming weeks deliveries. We will not be accepting any late orders at all after 8am Sunday - with no exceptions. No additions or changes can be made to orders after they are placed - so please don't ask.

At this stage delivery days are not changing, although delivery times may change. If this is a problem at your end, please email us on delivery day and we will be able to give you a delivery window. We expect that many of you are home at the moment due to the obvious anyway....

PS. Please ensure you have funds available on your cards for us on your delivery day.... this is more important now than ever before so that we can continue to keep our shelves stocked.

Important Changes 

  • All orders for 'priority supply' need to be placed by no later than 6am Saturdays for the coming weeks deliveries. 
  • Order cut off for all delivery days will be 8am Sunday for the coming weeks deliveries.  
  • Any order placed after 8am Sunday will not be supplied until the next order cycle. 
  • No changes can be made to orders - additions, deductions, etc after the order has been placed.  
  • We are no longer picking up boxes, packaging, iceblocks - if you can store them in a clean, dry place for us until we can pick them up again that would be appreciated. 
  • Any goods purchased from us cannot be returned.  
  • Sensible Substitution will be made at our end if items are short or not available unless you advise otherwise.
  • All orders requiring an ice pack will be provided a frozen bottle of water - charged at 90c
  • We WILL DELIVER week starting Easter Monday this year.

Monday - Thursday Deliveries: Order by 6am Saturday For PRIORITY SUPPLY
Monday - Thursday Deliveries: Order by 8am Sunday

Any orders placed after 8am Sunday will be held until the next order cycle

  • As you all know the Bok Choy was very big this week - back to baby bunches week starting Monday the 6th. Charlie's Fennel also back on the list this week. 
     
  • A quick note about the Second Quality offerings we have available on our site....from one week to another we have no idea how many will be available as the seconds are rejected from 1st quality produce.....so, please make a note with your order if you would like us to replace your order of Seconds with the first quality equivalent should the Seconds not be available. 
        
  • Did you know we have Recipe Packages, also simply known as Meal Inspiration for those of us preparing dinner for the fam each evening...Head to our Meal Inspiration Page to find this week's selection of Recipe inspirations. We know you all have things in your pantry like Olive Oil so with our packages you can simply add the package to your cart and then delete any goodies you don't require. So simple !  

We have updated our website with the most up to date and accurate information available to us at this time, but due to many factors including that most of the produce is yet to be picked there is of course some uncertainty with our expected supply. The good news is that we have quite a few supply options available to us and so we may list a Grower on our site that does not end up supplying us goodies this week. Rest assured we only deal in Certified Organic, Australian Grown Fruit and Veges - so any replacements we may supply to you from other Aussie Growers will also be grown in line with the National Organic Standard. You don't have to take our word for it... Lettuce Deliver is also a Certified Organic Retailer (NASAA Retailer R9291) which means that we have to be able to prove any claims we make about a products organic status at a moment's notice : )

MILK

...in many cases the Milk we offer you needs to be pre-ordered at our end a week in advance. Most of the time our guess- timates are spot on...but we have been caught out on the odd occasion. We do have a number of Dairy options available to us and so if we run short  on some varieties, we may look to others to fill the gap. If you would like us to supply ONLY the milk you have ordered or nothing at all, please make a note with your order.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS

As you know, we charge your credit card for your delivery total on the day of or day after your delivery. Please ensure that we have your up to date credit card details and that there are sufficient funds available on the day of your delivery for us to process your payment.
